Home of Genk in the east of Belgium, Cegeka Arena is a compact, modern ground in a city that lives closely with its club. It opened in 1999 and holds just under 25,000, big enough to feel major on league nights but close enough to keep the noise tight. Genk have a reputation for smart development and a strong local identity, and that gives the place an energetic, grounded feel rather than grand theatre. It is easy to reach from around the city, and the regular mix of Jupiler Pro League and Challenger Pro League football keeps things busy.
